Root canal is a procedure that can be safely done during pregnancy. But care still has to be taken while choosing the medications like antibiotics or painkillers for the symptoms, if any. And most importantly, precautions like lead apron are a must for the patient while taking the X-rays. If the dentist has a setup for Digital X rays (RVG), then it is an added advantage because the radiation exposure is slightly less than for conventional film based X-rays. And because at least one x-ray is required for the successful completion of RCT  (sometimes two or three), it would be prudent if you can confirm these few things from your dentist before starting the procedure. Regards.
