If it is already one month, and the pain is still there followed by swelling, getting an MRI is the best next option. Assessing the knee with clinical tests is also very important to reach to a diagnosis and to start treatment.
Next Steps
MRI followed by Consulting a specialist

Did you have any injury prior?any history of fever?any other conditions? Since it’s one month I suggest you get an xray and consult a doctor for proper evaluation For now you can use knee cap and no weight bearing..
