Restlessness
My wife is suffering from severe Restlessness I shown to Pyschiatrist. He suggested for serta 50 mg...and advised to take 25 mg of serta for 2 days and then continue with 50 mg...when she took serta tablet suicidal thought occurred in her mind and c started moving here there to do something to hurt herself..
Then I talked to Pyschiatrist again he said me to stop serta and now advised me to take mirtaz 7.5 mg .. When she started mirtaz tab at night next morning she started to sleep for longer duration...she woke up at 1 pm... And this continued for 3-4 days...lots of sleepeness
I have two doughts regarding medicine please clearlify.
(1) Suicidal attempt is the side effects of serta tab?
(2) Over sleping during day after taking mirtaz at night is the side efects of mirtaz7. 5?
Please help.

Suicidal thoughts might be due worsening of her illness
Mirtazepine can cause excess sleep but usually it happens for 4-5 days after which sleep normalizes and she is on lowest possible dose

Your Wife maybe suffering from Depression as these are common antidepressant which have been prescribed to you wife.
Suicidal ideas is a symptom of Depression and it may worsen as medicines take upto 2 weeks to be effective.
Mirtazapine does cause Drowsiness but gets better with time.

Suicidal thoughts may be due to worsening of symptoms and need further evaluation.
Oversleeping can occur with mirtazapine.It may even settle after few days.Consult your doctor for review .
