Regret in life.
From the last few months, I have been suffocating from inside and i am unable to control my mind and thoughts. I am now 27 years with a decent job, I have been working on a professional course (but not going well) and i couldn't be able to focus on it, whenever i go to study my mind wanders and mood shifts and i stop studies, this has lead to waste of years and now i can't control my mind and i am unable to achieve to clear the course as i have actually not tried it very well and there is a guilt in me. After all i haven't made my parents happy, they are eagerly waiting for me to clear the professional course, but i couldn't and this has made suffocating and guilt that what i am doing now is totally wrong and i should improve it but i couldn't. My problem is what i decide, i am not implementing it and delaying everything and it has caused me a serious loss of time. Being a eldest son i haven't made my parents happy, this thought hits me hard and i get emotional.

It's common to feel guilt and regret about perceived shortcomings, but it's crucial to approach these feelings with self-compassion. Consider these steps: 1. **Acknowledge Emotions:** Recognize and accept your feelings without judgment. It's okay to feel this way, and your emotions are valid. 2. **Reflect on Realistic Expectations:** Assess whether your expectations are realistic and if they align with your values and priorities. 3. **Break Down Goals:** Instead of focusing on broad success, break down goals into smaller, achievable steps. Celebrate each accomplishment, no matter how small. 4. **Communicate with Parents:** Share your feelings with your parents. They may have a different perspective and can provide support and understanding. 5. **Learn from Regrets:** Use regrets as learning opportunities rather than sources of guilt. Identify what can be done differently moving forward.
Next Steps
A psychotherapist can help explore these feelings, provide coping strategies, and support your journey towards a healthier mindset.
Health Tips
Remember, success is a subjective and evolving concept. Being proud of your efforts and acknowledging your growth is as important as achieving external milestones.

Get rid of guilt by accepting that you are human and humans can fail to do something or do something which they do not want or hurt others feelings , but not all depreciate themselves . This is reality that you have to accept if you don't want to feel guilt and try to amend things if possible with whole acceptance of you , not just partial acceptance of you  . When you feel guilt it become almost impossible to make amends because while feeling guilt focus is you, not the thing which you want to amend or do or don't want to do or want to change.

Hello, I can only understand how overthinking and wandering of your mind has created so many concerns that are making everything more difficult for you. To begin with start writing your thoughts in a diary this may provide some vent and relief. Writing will help provide clarity of some of your thoughts too. Jot down your main concerns and what would you like to change about it. It would be advisable to think of seeing it as a situation that you would like to change and in turn this will help to reduce the feelings of guilt.
Next Steps
Please note that it would help to talk to a counseling psychologist.
Health Tips
Please try to see this time as a passing phase and how it is temporary. Count your strengths and know that you can bring this change for yourself.

Hi! The guilt of not being able to make your parents happy can haunt you yes, but an important thing to always know is that you can only make others happy if you are happy with yourself. If you are not happy with yourself and fighting inner conflicts, it is very less likely that you can keep others happy. If your mind is wandering while studying, why is it happening? Are you interested enough in the course, or there is something else you would like to pursue? Ask yourself these questions. Try and self evaluate, whatever you are pursuing - will it be helpful to your future, will is benefit you monetarily, consider all factors as that can help in building or dropping your motivation. Look for other options as well and evaluate your interests. It is very important you have consistency, it is key if you want to seriously make something out of your future. Take your time but decide and stick to one thing, results always take time and require work and consistency. Shifting too many courses in a short span of time will just waste your time. Do consider job options as well.
Next Steps
Get over the guilt and actually focus on the work, someday you will definitely be able to achieve it. Being guilty is distracting you more from the actual goal!
Health Tips
Seek counselling, in your situation it can really help.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's okay to struggle, and you're not alone. Consider reaching out to someone you trust, like a friend or family member, and share your feelings. Sometimes, talking about what you're going through can provide a sense of relief. If you find it challenging to discuss with someone close, you might consider seeking support from a mental health professional. They can offer guidance and strategies to navigate these emotions.
