Regarding radiotherapy
Sir/ma'am My patient age 70 , had oral SCC of bucal mucosa mouth underwent surgery on June 3 this year and was post surgery in biopsy diagnosed with Stage 4a cancer. He post surgery also underwent chemotherpy (cisplatin 50mg /week 6 doses) and chemotherapy IGRT (30 session). Today his treatment is over but we don't know yet has the cancer healed or is it still there? Treating doctor said to wait 15 days before going for scan , my query is this right approach as delaying 15 days may increase risk? Kindly guide whether we should wait or go for ct/Pet-ct by our own tommorow?? Thankyou.

There's no point in doing a PET CT scan so soon, even 15 days is way too early in my opinion.

You should wait at least for 6-8 weeks after completing radiotherapy for your next pet scan-
