Does IGRT(radiotherapy ) given to buccal mucosa oral scc can cause thyroid cancer after 2-3 years if patient age at time of radiation is 70 ? The radiation was given to neck as well after lymph nodes removal. I know hypothyroidism is common after radiotherapy but is thyroid cancer common or can it occur ?
