Regarding oral cancer
Sir/ma'am My grandfather aged 70 had oral cancer surgery for gbs SCC stage 4a and also had chemo with radiotherapy. The treatment for the same was completed a year ago and flap was made and placed where partial mandibulectomy was done. After a month of completion of treatment we observed something tissue like things present in retromoral trigone which is still present hasn't grown much and not painful. Our doctor told it maybe post operative changes. My query is does this look like cancer? It's been a year and it has not resolved. Kindly guide what to do next? Photographs attached (doubtful area marked in yellow)

It’s unlikely to be anything worrying as it is not showing any changes for one year . Post radiotherapy some of the tissues will have some changes with regards to vascularity , which are common and nothing to worry about . Can’t actually make out anything suspicious from the photo as the photo covers only a small area . Would be better if a video consultation can be done to correlate the changes you mentioned with other area of his mouth .

Hi, Don’t worry much. If it is recurrence it will be associated with ulceration, pain and increase in size. Post RT and surgery these kind of changes will be seen. Monitor it carefully. Be aware of above mentioned signs. Get regular check up from ur oncologist. Stay away from risk factors.
