Regarding oral cancer Flap
Sir/ma'am Good afternoon, my grandfather had oral cancer surgery in last year May . The surgeon did suprahomoid neck dissection+ wide local excision+ marginal mandibulectomy+  nasolabial flap. Since 2-3 days we have observed some pus yellowish color thing coming from flap where stuture marks are present. Kindly see the photograph. Is this the cancer that has come back or some puss colection is there in flap, please guide. Is it possible for cancer to release puss from flap? Pls guide. Thankyou

It will be difficult to tell exactly what the nature of lesion is without palpating it . So better to get an OP consultation at the earliest . It could be just an abscess , which can be treated by antibiotics, or even an incision and drainage if necessary. But if anything suspicious is found on examination you may need to take a biopsy . Can you please share with me post operative report of disease and was post operative chemotherapy and or radiation given ?
