Yes, it definitely happens, and what you are describing is very typical. The feeling of something stuck in the throat with heaviness in the stomach and stuck burps is called globus sensation, and in anxiety it comes from tightening of the throat and upper food pipe muscles along with acid reflux and swallowed air. The fact that it happened 8 years ago with gastritis and stress and nothing serious was found then, and that you have no vomiting, no difficulty in swallowing food and no weight loss now, is reassuring - this is functional, not a growth. Practical steps that work: eat smaller frequent meals, do not lie down for 2-3 hours after eating, raise the head of the bed, cut down tea, coffee, spicy and oily food, smoking and alcohol, and avoid aerated drinks and chewing gum since they add air and worsen burping. Slow diaphragmatic breathing for 10 minutes twice a day genuinely reduces both the throat tightness and the burping. A proton pump inhibitor such as pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before breakfast for 4 weeks usually settles the acid part, and treating the anxiety itself - regular exercise, sleep routine, and counselling or CBT - is what prevents it from coming back; if the anxiety attacks are frequent, please do not hesitate to see a psychiatrist, medicines for that are safe and effective. Get an endoscopy done if you develop difficulty or pain on swallowing, food sticking, vomiting, black stools, anaemia, or unexplained weight loss - those need investigation rather than reassurance. Happy to discuss in detail on a Practo consult (fee ₹500) or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj.

Aapke symptoms acidity/gastritis ya stress/anxiety ki wajah se ho sakte hain, especially kyunki pehle bhi similar problem ho chuki hai. Lekin throat mein kuch stuck hone jaisa feeling baar-baar ho raha hai, isliye proper history lena zaroori hai.
Next Steps
Aap ek baar consultation le lijiye, jisme aapke symptoms aur previous history ko detail mein assess karke exact cause samjha ja sake aur uske according treatment decide kiya ja sake.
Health Tips
Filhaal spicy/oily food, excess tea/coffee aur late-night heavy meals avoid karein. Agar swallowing mein actual difficulty, vomiting, chest pain ya breathing problem ho to jaldi medical evaluation karwayein.
