Sounds like folliculitis. It is common in pubic area... especially with those who shave.
Need not to worry...This can easily be treated with careful medication...but please do not try to self medicate as that can cause proboems

If the furuncle is red , painful and swelled you should consult a dermatologist for oral prescription. As of now you can apply topical antibiotic with cold compresses to settle down inflammation
