Doctor, I am 33 years old and still unmarried. I have been experiencing recurrent vaginal discharge for the past 5½ years. The discharge varies in nature—sometimes milky white, curdy, or watery—and occurs repeatedly, usually every month and at least once every 1–2 months. I have consulted multiple doctors and undergone several treatments, but the problem continues to recur.
This ongoing issue has caused significant stress and affected my mental well-being. I would like to know whether this could be related to an underlying autoimmune condition, immune deficiency, hormonal imbalance, or any other chronic health issue. Are there any specific tests that can help identify the root cause? Also, could there be any underlying vaginal skin condition or structural issue contributing to these recurrent symptoms?
