Radius and Ulna break due to fall on sta
My father slipped and fall on stairs then his Radius and Ulna are broken doctor suggest rod operation please guide it need operation or only plaster is required please suggest I attached x ray please suggest according to condition

Better to go ahead with surgery for early mobilization, rod fixation would suffice as it avoids larger incisions and opening the fracture.

Need surgical fixation.Plastering in these type of fractures is done only in pediatric population.

First try the non surgical close reduction under and pop plaster cast short General anesthesia in 75 percent cases no surgical nail/ plate required Only in non correctable reduction fracture nail/ plate is only surgery option Consult me Appointment thru practo. Tks

Hello This is a displaced fracture of shaft Radius and Ulna. This definitely requires surgical intervention with plate fixation(Not rod). This kind of fracture cannot be treated with plaster.
