I got a dog bite 2 months after completing my rabies post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) 4-dose regimen administered to me on day 0, day 3, day 6 (instead of day 7, due to exam/travel so I took on day 6 itself one day early) and last dose on day 28. Clearly I do not need 2 booster doses (day 0, 3) rabies vaccine for this re-exposure because it occurs 2 months after my PEP which means it did not occur 3 months after my rabies PEP and as per guideline 2 booster doses (day 0, 3) rabies regimen is only for re-exposure that occurs 3 months after completing rabies 4-dose PEP (0,3,7,28) that means 2 booster doses do not apply to me. My case of re-exposure is 2 months after completing rabies PEP and as per guideline no need to vaccinate for any re-exposure within 3 months of completing rabies PEP which means I need no vaccine. Question: Does "no vaccination" still hold for me if 3rd dose was 1 day early on day 6 instead of day 7? Am I eligible for "no vaccination" despite schedule deviation?
