Rabies anxiety
Hello doctors! 3 to 4 months ago i was scratched by a playfull street dog while playing with it. The scratch was not long, neither did it bleed. I did not take any vaccine. I own a dog myself and whenever it scratches me that causes bleeding or redness , it leaves a permanent mark. Though there is no mark where the stray dog had scratched me. 10 days ago i was feeling irritation in my throat but i gained no fever in these 10 days. I have been suffering from severe anxiety feeling i might have rabies. I had watched videos of rabies and what not. Ive thought of it multiple times before. Ive not been able to indulge in any activities or even smile or laugh in these 10 days. I feel sick-ish almost everyday yet gain no temprature. Im not able to eat any solids due to vomiting tendency. Though it ocsionally gets better upon talking to my parents and feeling hungry. Please evaluate my risk of rabies and what i should do next. 🙏

There is no rabies. Since u have a dog vaccinate your dog and u get vaccinated which will relieve from your anxiety. And it’s almost 3-4 months ago so don’t worry about your risk of infection

Hello! Based on your description, the scratch occurred 3–4 months ago, was superficial without bleeding, and you’ve had no rabies symptoms such as fever, hydrophobia, aerophobia, or paralysis. That makes the risk of rabies extremely low — almost negligible. The throat irritation and sick feeling are much more likely due to anxiety and stress, not rabies infection. At this point, no post-exposure vaccine is required, but I’d advise a detailed anxiety evaluation and reassurance therapy. It’s important to stop watching rabies-related videos — they’re only worsening your fear cycle. You’re safe — but let’s help you overcome this health anxiety properly. You can reach me personally for a detailed guidance and recovery plan on WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one double three two. I’ll help you get completely relieved from this fear.
