Some of the medicines used for rheumatoid arthritis can cause birth defects. The might have to be stopped or substituted.

If the symptoms are more you should take dmards and anti inflammatory. Once the symptoms resolve or become less you can plan for family. We can't give you dmards while you are pregnant and pregnancy can elevate the symptoms too. But you need to manage it by mild nsaids and other medicines that are safe in pregnancy
