With today's medicines which have minimal side effects and very good efficacy, RA is very well managed like Diabetes and Blood pressure. The key is to give medicines which prevent joint damage. I hardly see any patients with deformity these days which was very common 20 year back. The key is to be regular with follow up.
Next Steps
Consult with a Pain Management Clinic or Rheumatologist

It’s a chronic condition which can be well managed with plethora of medications depending on the aggression of the disease(the pathology will remain in the body but the progression can be stopped). It cannot be “cured”. Life span is not affected per se(if well under control) .
