Hello Respected Doctors,
Dayvigo and Quitipin are the meds prescribed by my psychiatrists as the one who prescribed Quitipin is out of India, so had to go ahead with a second opinion. Pls guide as to which med can be taken over a longer period with less side effect
Dayvigo dosage 5 mg
Quitipin 50 mg.
Both helps a lot but Quitipin in a major way.
Melatonin sometimes help but noy always.
Regards to all.

If you don't have any metabolic side effects you may choose some other brand of quetiapine like Qutan, Seroquit, Quel etc. You may try a lower dose of quetiapine say 25 mg or half of that. That may also help with insomnia and cause lesser side effects. Consult online if you want to change quetiapine altogether. That can be done after assessment.

Talk to experienced psychiatrist online and get your health questions answered in just 5 minutes.
For sleep disturbances you can have any one of the two medications that have been mentioned
If you have a deranged sugar level, weight gain, impaired lipid profile, dayvigo you can prefer
All depends on the patient profile as I mentioned above
If it's only for insomnia, then dayvigo is better (made to treat only insomnia) in the short term in view of lesser side effects as quetiapine is an anti-psychotic has few metabolic and cardiac side effects especially in the long term. It's in your best interest if you consult a psychiatrist in person and discuss regarding further continuation of any of the above molecules wrt to their need, safety and efficacy in short, medium and long term.

Hi.. quetiapine is an anti-psychotic medicine, though in low doses it is used for sedation. However will need further history regarding the same to advise appropriately. It's always better to treat the cause of the symptom than treating the symptoms alone. Consult online for further evaluation and management
Basically both are different class . Your complete history is needed for it to advise
