Query regarding dog bite
Hello, I got the bite of a dog and it bleed on yesterday morning (6 AM approx.) and then within few minutes, cleaned it with SAVLON [made from Cetrimide (0.5% w/v), Chlorhexidine Gluconate (0.1% w/v)] --- but did NOT wash the area of bite with water and soap. Then, I got the anti-Rabies shot and immunoglobulin shot on yesterday afternoon (4:15 approx.). Was this enough to prevent any adverse and critical problem like being affected by Rabies and then die from the consequences of it? Kindly help. Thank you.

As such no but cleaning in running tape water with lifebuoy soap is good  as it contains carbolic acid deadly to rabies virus.

Dear Patient, Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding the dog bite you sustained. It is good that you cleaned the wound with Savlon and received both the anti-rabies shot and immunoglobulin promptly. These steps are crucial in preventing rabies, a serious and potentially fatal disease. However, it is also important to ensure that the wound is thoroughly cleaned with soap and water as soon as possible after a bite, as this helps to reduce the risk of infection. Since you did not wash the wound with soap and water initially, I recommend that you do so now if the wound is still open. Additionally, it is essential to complete the full course of anti-rabies vaccinations as prescribed by your healthcare provider. To ensure that you are on the right track and to address any further concerns, I strongly recommend that you schedule a consultation with me. We can review your treatment plan and provide any additional care if necessary. Please feel free to reach out to me on WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two to schedule an appointment or discuss your concerns further. Take care .
