What you are describing is sometimes also called as ice pick headache if it lasts for only few seconds. This is something that occurs because of triggers. For example you might have them more when the day has been stressful or you were exposed to bright sunlight. Basically more than physical ailments it is sign of mental distress and that's why a proper assessment and management of Anxiety disorder is needed. It’s a good idea to keep a headache diary. Write down when you have an ice pick headache and what happened before it started. If you had a stressful day at work before it hit, write that down. You can also use a mobile phone app instead of a diary. Take this information to your next doctor’s appointment so you can discuss ways to prevent these headaches. They may be able to suggest lifestyle changes, such as relaxation, to reduce stress. You can consult me directly on nine eight two six five four five six six zero.

Your symptom—intermittent pulsating sensation at one spot above the ear, lasting seconds to a minute—is most consistent with: • Tension Headache or stress-related vascular/muscle spasm • Sometimes can overlap with Migraine variants (localized throbbing)
Next Steps
• Observation + trigger identification: – Stress, lack of sleep, screen time • Basic evaluation (for reassurance): – BP check – Eye check (if strain present) • Medication: – Continue current meds – Occasional mild painkiller if needed
Health Tips
• Maintain proper sleep routine • Reduce screen time and take breaks • Practice relaxation (breathing, meditation) • Stay hydrated ⚠️ Red flags: • Persistent continuous headache • Vomiting, blurred vision • Weakness/numbness ⸻

This is usually benign—most commonly muscle twitching or a small vessel pulsation, often triggered by stress/anxiety, caffeine, or fatigue. Ensure good sleep, reduce caffeine, manage stress, and stay hydrated. Continue your current meds as advised. If it becomes persistent, painful, or associated with headache/vision issues, get neurological evaluation. Please consult me for proper evaluation and treatment.
