Simple schizophrenia is a specific subtype of schizophrenia, which is mostly characterized by slowly emerging and gradually progressive loss of goal, apathy, poor interest and communication, and various other symptoms. The diagnosis will require significant expertise and experience on the part of psychiatrist to come to a confirmed diagnosis and rule out other similar disorders. In case the patient suffering from severe mental illness is not willing for treatment, the mental health specialist can try and make them understand need of treatment and possibility hospitalization, if that is not successful hospitalization can be done with consent of family members. There are other methods to ensure medication delivery where patient has been unwilling for oral medications, the patient can be given once a month or once a fortnight depot injectable which can ensure medication delivery in the body gradually. However you need to discuss all these options with a psychiatrist in person before taking any decision.
