Hi. I'm 22 years old male. I've been taking medications for anxiety but the doctor has reduced the dosage and now i think it's creating a problem. Should I switch to my earlier doses ?

Please visit to your doctor as sometimes dose adjustments need to be monitored in terms of exacerbations of your symptoms . Gradual reduction in the dosages is always better in any psychiatric illness so that any slight fluctuation in symptoms can be monitored with precision.

you should do whatever your doctor says, keep him in loop. Don’t play with the medication and apart from that. I would like to tell you that for anxiety. CBT is very effective. You know like once you start tapping down your medicine, I think of leaving it learning the CBT techniques will help you sustain, maintain and may finally get rid of anxiety, so do consider that you can consult me for the same, but do take therapy all the best.

Early tapering off, quickly tapering off medications can precipitate symptoms. Secondly if the severity of anxiety is severe, you need to consult your psychiatrist.
Next Steps
Don’t self medicate, talk to your psychiatrist.
Health Tips
PMRT - a relaxation technique daily once or twice along with medications can help.

Hi.. need further history regarding your condition to advise appropriately like the duration of illness, dosage of medications, duration of use etc. its not advisable to self medicate. Consult your treating Psychiatrist and discuss regarding the same.
