Hi
I have a L4-L5 herniated disc that was detected in Jan 2019. I had undergone physiotherapy to manage it at that time.
I'm currently 8 months pregnant (due in June end).
Will it be possible to get an epidural for pain relief during labour, if required?

Hello,
As regards to you history of herniated disc for back problem, it shouldn't be a problem if you tell your anaesthetist preinformed so they can adjust the level of injection in epidural.
However it will best to get in touch with your doctor, anaesthetist and operating team to let them know all your queries and get them solved from them and also so that they take necessary precautions.
Yes you can get epidural but there are some complications you will face if u get epidural during normal labour you wont get to know the pains and may be baby wont get oxygen if labour is delayed but if u go for c section herniated disc is not a problem becz you will have spinal ANESTHESIA
