Post tooth extraction
Hi, i ate soft rice and dal and where my tooth is extracted in that space some particle of rice and dal are there it has been 30hrs for extraction is it risky if food stucks there. i tried to rinse mouth by little water but the particles arent coming out I am scared of infection there.

Hi..just rinse with betadine twice daily. Food strucking in the extracted tooth hole is normal but it won't create infection. Regards

First there should not be any space Second  if there is the wound was to be closed by suture by the doctor.  But anyhow if there is space now.  Please go and consult the doctor who did extraction

You could try lukewarm saline rinses 36 hours after the extraction. They will help remove the food particles. Do not be scared of infection. After most extractions antibiotics are given to prevent infection. Sometimes what you think might be particles of food is actually the clot which shows your extraction wound is healing. Do not be scared but follow good oral hygiene procedures.

Do not do vigorous rinsing or brushing on that area for 48 hours after extraction. Use a baby toothbrush after to clean since it is gentler.
