I have a polyp of 1 cm in my urtreus. Does it need to be operated only?

A 1 cm endometrial polyp is small, and whether it needs removal depends on your symptoms, age, and fertility needs.
According to guidelines, removal is advised if:
1.You are 40 years or older
At this age, the risk of polyps persisting or causing abnormal bleeding increases.
2. You have abnormal uterine bleeding
3.You are trying to conceive
4.The polyp is causing symptoms like pain,cramping or Discomfort
When you can AVOID surgery (watchful waiting)
1.You have no symptoms
2.It’s a single polyp smaller than 1–1.5 cm
3.No fertility issues
4.No risk factors
5.Ultrasound follow-up is possible every 6 months
Preferred Treatment (if removal is needed)- Hysteroscopic Polypectomy with tissue biopsy
At 40 years, most guidelines recommend removing even a 1 cm polyp — especially if you have bleeding or fertility plans.
If you are completely asymptomatic, you can wait and monitor, but removal is usually preferred at your age for safety and clarity.
