My 69 year old mother who has lung cancer and was on immunotherapy.. was having coughing since 4 months, doctor doubted on pneumonitis.. her oxygen level was dipping a bit too but she was fine! Now suddenly since 1 week her oxygen level started dipping 70 but she had no cold or flu and so she is admitted and doctor saying she has pneumonia.. treatment is going on..
But how she got pneumonia? I had a normal cold one week ago, Could I have given my mother pneumonia? Could my simple cold have given my mother pneumonia?

Patients with lung Ca who are on chemotherapy are more prone to develop infections like pneumonia due to their impaired immunity. Sometimes Chemotherapy related pneumonitis may be the cause.
Hi. I understand your concern. Do a online consult for a detailed analysis of your symptoms and reports to suggest you further management plan and treatment prescription for the same
rather than posting multiple questions without any context, consult any of the pulmonologist online with the detailed case of your mother..that will be helpful..you are simply posting multiple questions
it can be a bacterial pneumonia as she is immunosuppressed
also immunotherapy agents are prone to cause lung fibrosis and pneumonitis which can lead to desaturation and dyspnea
kindly consult
Due to immune suppression, there is possibility of getting pnuemonia even with simple infection, due to Lung cancer.pl consult pulmonologist with detailed history and reports and treatment taken for better evaluation and treatment.
