Why glucometer shows above 100 fasting blood sugar level When lab tested it was 97 Hba1c 5.4 It was showing 119 fasting I ate sugary rice (jarda ) at night is it a cause

There is always a difference between glucometer values and the lab values as the former is capillary blood glucose and the lab values are venous blood samples

The answer is that the lab tests will never give 100% ditto reading unless they are computers and the blood sample has also been collected by a computer from the same finger or vein and within a few seconds. You are lucky that the difference is only 3 mg. It can be much more. Did the Lab technician take your blood from a vein or from the finger tip by a prick method ?
