Metabolically active means it’s going towards malignancy. Sometimes one biopsy might not pick it up may need multiple or repeat biopsies. It usually depends on size and accessibility of the lesion. It’s better to do a detailed evaluation with a pulmonologist. Please do not panic or get worried at this point from our responses. Let us take one step at a time and stay positive. More than happy to help you to connect to pulmonologists around your location if I know any.

So biopsy sample depends on a lot of things like the size and how the section was cut. Sometimes multiple biopsies are needed to come to a conclusion. You can get a second opinion on the biopsy or a repeatbiopsy can be done. If its metabolically active then definitely tilts towards malignancy.
