Fibrosis and Lung Cancer
Can adenocarcinoma lung develop due to post covid fibrosis? Can fibrosis cause adenocarcinoma in lung? My 69 yrs old mother had a smoking history but she quit long time ago(20 yrs).. everything was fine but she got covid pneumonia and later ct scan said just post covid fibrosis.. After one year another ct scan was done and it showed a 3 cm lung mass and mediastinal lymph nodes largest measuring 9 mm both metabolically active in pet scan.. Biopsy said moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma.. Did the post covid fibrosis cause my mother's lung cancer?? Please reply 🙏 I need to know
