What does remark "giant platlates seen" means? I was regularly monitoring the blood platlates test report of my father, suffering from Dengue for the last 4 days. Today's report has a remark mention as giant platlates seen. What does that mean? Altough my father's platlates level is increasing slowly and it is 148 right now.

Continue to monitor platelets.With rapid turnover ,when platelets are being rapidly produced,one can find some giant platelets.Since you mentioned that platelets are rising,this seems ro be the likely cause
