Pet rodents bite need antirabies tetanus
I am thinking of buying either guinea pigs or hedgehog or sugar glider if by chance they bite me in future do I need antirabies full course and also tetanus vaacine ?

For captive-bred exotic pets like guinea pigs, hedgehogs, and sugar gliders, anti-rabies vaccination after a bite is NOT routinely required. These small mammals are extremely unlikely to carry rabies â globally, there are virtually no documented cases of rabies transmission to humans from these species, especially when they are captive-bred indoor pets with no exposure to wild animals. The CDC and most infectious disease guidelines do not recommend ARV for bites from these animals. For tetanus: if your tetanus vaccination is up to date (booster within the last 10 years), you do not need a fresh dose for a bite. If you are not up to date, a booster is advisable. For any bite that breaks the skin, the most important step is thorough wound washing with soap and water and watching for signs of local infection.

Yes, while it is technically possible for any mammal to contract and transmit the rabies virus, the risk profile varies significantly between these animals.
Rabies is rare with a hedgehog and sugar glider but can occur with guinea pigs.

As a precautionary measure you’ll be given a Tetanus injection if not received recently, however any of the above mentioned animals are not known to transmit, so antirabies wont be necessary.
