Persistent Afterimages
Can someone help me with mild Palinopsia-like symptoms? I am seeing persistent afterimages of the object for 1-2 seconds. I am becoming fed up. I have visited multiple ophthalmologists & Neuro Opthalmologists but no one is able to tell me why it is happening. Most of them say I am overthinking but I am seeing these afterimages from the past 4 months. For ex: if I see tv and look sideways then the glimpse of tv is there for 1-2 seconds. This is happening with a window grill, plaster of paris design also. I have a number of floaters in both eyes and also have a lazy eye in the left eye. I am becoming mad day by day. Is there anyone who can help me. I heard the term Palinopsia for this on the Internet. I have been taking L-gautholine 500 MG and Bilypsa for fatty liver for 6 months. Can it be the cause??

Dear Sir, Thank you for sharing your concerns. I can understand how distressing it must be when you are repeatedly experiencing visual symptoms and yet are unable to get a clear explanation despite consulting multiple specialists. Anyone in your situation would feel frustrated and anxious. What you are describing—seeing a brief image of an object for 1–2 seconds after looking away—does resemble what is sometimes referred to as "afterimages" or palinopsia-like symptoms. However, there can be many possible causes, including visual processing issues, migraine spectrum disorders, retinal conditions, neurological factors, medications, anxiety, stress, sleep deprivation, or metabolic disturbances. Since you have already consulted ophthalmologists and neuro-ophthalmologists, it is reassuring that serious eye disease has likely been excluded, but persistent symptoms still deserve careful evaluation. I would like to know: • Did these symptoms start suddenly or gradually? • Any history of migraine, headaches, anxiety, panic attacks, or excessive screen exposure? • Have you undergone MRI Brain, Visual Field Testing, OCT Retina, or neurological evaluation? • Do the symptoms worsen in bright light or after prolonged screen use? • Any history of COVID infection, head injury, or other medications? Regarding L-Gautholine and Bilypsa, these are not commonly known to cause palinopsia-like symptoms, but any medication should be reviewed in the context of the complete clinical picture by your treating physician. From a homeopathic perspective, it is important to understand the visual symptoms along with your overall physical and emotional state, sleep, stress levels, medical history, and constitutional makeup before deciding on treatment. Please do not assume that you are "going mad." Persistent visual symptoms can understandably make a person anxious, especially when no clear diagnosis is given. The anxiety is often a consequence of the symptom, not necessarily the cause of it. I have managed patients with chronic unexplained symptoms, neurological complaints, anxiety-related disorders, and visual disturbances through individualized homeopathic treatment. Since every case is unique, I would prefer to review your complete history and investigations before offering any opinion regarding treatment. You may also go through our Google Reviews, Facebook page, and Instagram testimonials to learn about the experiences of patients who have consulted us for chronic and difficult-to-diagnose health conditions. Since you are in Ghaziabad, an online consultation can be arranged. I would be happy to review your reports and discuss your case in detail. Warm regards, Dr. Jyoti Kadkol Health Global Homoeopathy Clinic,Vijaynagar, Whitefield(Hoodi) www.healthglobalclinics.com

Visual disturbances, such as the afterimages you described, can be complex and are often multifactorial. Given that you have already consulted with ophthalmologists and neuro-ophthalmologists, it is important to continue following the guidance of your specialists regarding these neurological or ocular concerns. While you mentioned current medications, any potential side effects or links to your symptoms should be discussed directly with the prescribing physician, as they have full access to your medical records and can best evaluate your current treatment plan. I would suggest keeping a symptom diary and sharing these specific observations with your primary specialist during your next follow-up!

Mostprobably you are watching screen too much, or sleeping too late, this is very common when u lack proper sleep and vit a deficiency, i would ask u to sort out routine , diet, rest, exercise and sunlight that will cure all of this, only except if u have a serious underlying condition, so first correct lifestyle and if no improvement than only go for mri brain
