Permanent retainer's bonding agent fell
Hi, I've had permanent retainers for 6 months now, 6 more months to go. But the bonding agent behind two teeth have fallen off completely and it's no longer attached to the teeth. Consulted one dentist (not the one who fixed it), he says it's fine as the wire is not broken. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi, The permanent retainers you are talking about is the most important step in your orthodontic treatment, this should be taken on a serious note otherwise chances of relapse of your treatment is high and you will not want that. Retention plan for any orthodontic procedure is mainly under the supervision of the patient and there are less visits to the orthodontist.
Next Steps
As long the wire is there it is ok but why wait for the next stage where the wire is not there and there is no retention provided. Better to get it re cemented and complete your retention period sincerely.
Health Tips
You don't want your long patient orthodontic treatment to go in vain so please get it done in your next visit with the orthodontist who started your treatment or any other certified orthodontist.
