I had orthodontic correction when I was 15 years old..for both upper and lower teeth...after corretion was done I wore removable retainers on upper teeth for close to one year..lower teeth the doctor fixed a fixed wire behind lower front teeth.
From last 15 years I dint get retainer removed.
Just few weeks back the lower teeth retainer wire came out.
Should I go to dentist and get new wire..
Or else since 15 years are over since orthodontic correction have the teeth set to their position?
How much does it cost to get small wire bonded again ?

Hello.. Good evening.. The lower lingual retainer is usually given for avoiding relapse.. But you used it for 15 years.
Mostly it won't relapse again.. Mostly there won't be necessary to replace a retainer..
Follow up if you have any discomfort..
Thank you..

I suggest you to brush properly the lingual side of lower teeth to remove the cement which may be attached on the teeth surface even after retainer came out..

Hello dear
Please be calm
See 15 years are very much long for relapse to occur but still I suggest you to have clinical check up done with orthodontist to know the present condition.for further details you can consult me
Thanks
Usually lower teeth are treated for crowding which is mostly due to the tooth being rotated. This kind of a malocclusion usually requires permanent retention plan. You should visit your orthodontist to get the retainer made. Tooth movement will start otherwise and would lead to a relapse.
