Dear madam . The retainer schedule varies for each patient. So whatever your Orthodontist has planned and advised . Stick to that. Talk to them first . If you feel it is difficult to adhere to. Discuss with them if something else can be done. In our Orthodontic practice We usually advise wear of Retainers full time first year and sic months for lifetime only night wear of Retainers. Hope this helped

Retainers are of two types : Removable and Fixed.
Fixed reatiners are fitted on the tooth surface facing the tongue, it is there in your mouth forever.
Whereas removable reatainers can be put and removed according to the patient's covenience.
Considering you are asking about removable retainers , these has to be worn for atleast 6 months to 1 year. The more time you wear them , the better the results can be expected.
These should be worn throughout the day , removed only while eating something or drinking anything else than water.
You can go to bed wearing them .
Your dentist will guide you about when can you stop wearing the retainers.

Hi the doctor decides whether you get removable or fixed retainers after the treatment.
If it's removable you need to wear them for a period of 6 months to a year.
The maximum number of hours you wear the better.
They usually get a set of clear retainers which look like aligners only and it is to be worn 21 hours in a day just like your aligners. Later the time duration can be shortened.
Hii.. Usually retainers are given for 3-6months after any orthodontic treatment. Few are permanent too. Depends from patient to patient. Take an suggeation from orthodontist
