Periods delayed,Test Negative
Hello Doctor, I am 31 years old female. My last period was on 10th August, and today is 25th September, so my periods are delayed by more than one month. I have checked pregnancy test at home and it is negative. I have a history of irregular periods earlier also. At present I have no fever, no severe abdominal pain, no white discharge and no other major symptoms. I am worried about the delay. Please advise what could be the reason and what tests or treatment I should take. Thank you.

If your pregnancy test is negative then take medicine to get your period. Consult for prescription please.

A missed period for over a month with a negative test, especially with your history of irregular cycles, is more often hormonal than a sign of pregnancy.
Next Steps
A thyroid and hormone panel along with a pelvic ultrasound will help find the cause. Repeat your home test in another week if your period still hasn't started.
Health Tips
See a gynaecologist sooner if you develop fever, pelvic pain, or heavy bleeding.
