Perianal abscess
I have been suffering from perianal abscess which was confirmed from trans rectal ultrasound scan. I have been asked to undergo surgery, will there be any long term effects after surgery? Is it Mandatory to undergo surgery or is there any other alternative? Please suggest.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  Yes the surgery is necessary.  Basically its a procedure to drain out the pus. What long term effects are you talking about? You will be prescribed medicines which you need to take as long as recommended and also maintain good personal hygeine. No long term effects if you get the surgery done. If not, then there are a lot of effects, both long and short term. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.

Mostly it's a small surgery to drain the abscess and heals sooner. Their is also possibility of its healing by medicines alone. Some antibiotocs have to be taken along with some creams to be applied
