Is surgery necessary for perforated eardrum? Please advise. I get occasional pain and discharge from the affected ear.

Surgery is not always the only option for the perforated ear drum..... Medication also can recover the perforation but its depends on the size of perforation and type of hearing loss you have for the same please consult ent specialist......
