Hello mam i have tested pap smear for first time..its come negative before 9years i had unprotected intercource that's why I have tested for safety..from 9years till now I am not sexually active and I don't have any symtoms.I see on google hpv dormant for many years means abnormal cells start at any time after 9years negative pap smear plz help me I am very stressed. If I will not sexually active next for many years then also it's start to effect my cells in cervix..

Pap smear is a screening test and should be done every year for every women who are sexually active. It’s good that you got it done. I don’t feel you should be concerned or scared aboutcancer cervix but getting Pap smear as a preventive health test is always good and recommended

During your Google search you would also have noticed that HPV infection need not come only through sexual intercourse, it can also come from the other modes of close contact.
Similarly the HPV infection may be there even in the other parts of the body apart from vagina and cervix.
So it doesn't really help by getting a Pap smear done, especially when you don't have any symptoms.
