Pantaprazole long term
I have been taking pantaprazole and domperidone tablets for past 3 weeks. They help with my ibs and night time urination frequency. Can such medicines be taken long term? I have ibs for many years now and been taking probiotics as well

Pantoprazole and domperidone are usually meant for short-term use. Long-term use can cause nutrient deficiencies, bone/kidney issues, or heart rhythm problems. For chronic IBS, focus on diet, lifestyle, and probiotics. Continue these medicines only under doctor supervision at the lowest effective dose

Ppi (pantop) on a long term usage can cause ulceration in gastric mucosa. IBS is a rare diagnosis to make on your own. I hope you are actually diagnosed with it. Pantaprazole and Domperidone are not preferred for IBS and Nocturia. Please consult a general surgeon for further workup. Need to understand the underlying cause of the same
