How to stop taking Domperidone.

Hello , I beg to state that I'm a 25 years old male suffering from GERD for last 3 years. 1.5 year ago , I was also diagnosed with Class A Esophagitis and was told to take Pantocid DSR twice daily. Recently , one local doctor suggested me to discontinue Domperidone as it has many side-effects and that there are other better alternatives but I'm fearful of it's withdrawal symptoms. I have anxiety disorder and I've come to know that suddenly discontinuing drugs like Domperidone can produce negetive effects. Can I discontinue Domperidone suddenly or shoulder I taper off gradually ? Please guide me through. My daily dosage of Domperidone has been (30+30) for last 1.5 years ( Approx ).
