Painkiller can increase B.P ?
68 years old hypertensive female patient. She has lower back pain. She taking Neorelax mr-4 one time in a day . Before this her morning bp average was 138/76 ( 10 am) . But now it is 145-155/85-88. But her evening bp (6 pm)  is normal 130/70 . She takes Cilacar 10 at 11 a.m and Telma 40 at 11 p.m . Now what should we do ?

BP is affected by the pain killers and pain itself.Monitor the BP till her back pain is relieved.You can give paracetamol 1 gm instead of neorelax mr4.

Monitor BP regularly for few days and note it down. Ensure the patient is taking medicine at the right time. Non compliance becomes one of the common causes for increased BP in any patient. Still if the BP remains high dose can be increased

Yes they can increase BP Occasional, slight high BP is not cause of concern so don't worry
