Painful red rash on tongue
I have developed this painful red rash on the lateral side of the tongue from yesterday. It is painful and especially when I eat spicy food. What might be this ? What should be the treatment plan ? Any advice ?

Consult your dentist for the same. The lesion seems to be traumatic injury from cheek biting. Avoid spicy food for some days till the lesion subsides. Apply metrogel ointment to reduce discomfort. Dental Galaxy, Pune

Dear Practo user , The lesion appears to be a traumatic injury likely caused by accidental biting. Such injuries are common and usually heal on their own within a few days. You can apply anesthetic gel (like LA gel) before meals to reduce discomfort. Maintain good oral hygiene and avoid spicy or acidic foods to prevent irritation. If the lesion persists beyond 7–10 days or worsens, consult a dentist for further evaluation.
