I'm sorry to hear that your mother is experiencing chronic pain and swelling in her left wrist joint. As a diabetes patient, it's important for her to manage her blood sugar levels as high blood sugar can worsen joint pain and inflammation. I would recommend that your mother see a doctor for an evaluation of her wrist joint. An orthopedic doctor or a rheumatologist would be a good specialist to consult for joint pain and swelling. They may recommend imaging tests like X-rays or an MRI to get a better look at the joint and see if there is any damage to the bones or cartilage. In the meantime, your mother can try home remedies like resting the wrist, applying ice packs to reduce swelling, and taking over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or naproxen to help manage the pain. However, it's important to follow the recommended dosage and not exceed the maximum daily limit. If the pain and swelling persist or worsen, it's important to seek medical attention promptly.

Needs proper examination to check where is the swelling coming from and the cause of pain. If the pain is not relieved even with medicine it warrants attention.
Next Steps
Kindly get an orthopedic surgeon consultation for clinical examination for adequate diagnosis and treatment.
