Hello dear
Your complaints are not clear. Where exactly do you feel pain with arm movements and which movements exactly.
I suspect a shoulder pathology but what type unfortunately can't be commented based on this.
A better history would help.
1. How long is the pain and where?
2. How did it start?
3 Have you had any injury?
4. Have you had long standing neck pain?
5. Does it pain more at night?
6. Presuming that its your shoulder which is painful, does it pain more sleeping on the affected side?
7 Are you on any medication currently?
For the time being i can only say that do not do movements which are painful.

This is most likely because of a rotator cuff pathology or periarthritis ( especially if you feel that the movements are restricted ) . However a clinical examination will be needed to differentiate. But the treatment remains same. Shoulder conditioning program that includes hot packs, exercises , physiotherapy , and anti-inflammatory medicines.
such pains are mostly because of subacromial bursitus (swelling in upper part of shoulder) , reason can be overuse, heavy wt lifting, uric acid or diabetes. cervical spondylitis pain can also present as pain in shoulder. better to visit a orthopaedic doctor for clinical evaluation. moist packs can be done at home safely.
