Hello. Pain or a poking feeling in the lower left abdomen with missed periods can happen due to hormonal delay, ovarian issues, or sometimes constipation-related discomfort. Since your periods have not started yet, it would be important to rule out pregnancy if there is any chance. In the meantime you may consider: • Drinking adequate water and increasing fiber intake • Light physical activity to help bowel movement Since the exact cause of pain and delayed periods needs evaluation, a detailed review would be helpful. You may book an online consultation for proper evaluation and personalized treatment guidance.

Lower left abdominal pain with missed periods can be due to gas, constipation, or hormonal changes. Drink plenty of water and eat fiber-rich food. If pain or delay continues, get checked.

Pain or a poking sensation in the lower left abdomen with delayed periods can occur due to several common causes. The most frequent possibilities are: • Constipation, which can cause left lower abdominal discomfort or poking pain. • Ovulation-related or premenstrual pain when periods are about to start. • Hormonal delay of periods due to stress, lifestyle changes, or travel. • Occasionally Ovarian Cyst, which can cause one-sided lower abdominal pain. If your periods are delayed and there is any possibility of pregnancy, it is important to first rule out Pregnancy with a urine pregnancy test.
Next Steps
• If your period is more than 5–7 days late, do a urine pregnancy test at home. • For pain relief you may take **Drotaverine or **Mefenamic Acid if needed (after food). • For constipation you can take Lactulose syrup 15–20 ml at night for a few days. • If the pain persists for more than 3–4 days, or becomes severe, an ultrasound of the abdomen/pelvis may be needed to rule out ovarian causes.
Health Tips
• Drink 2–2.5 liters of water daily to improve bowel movement. • Include fiber-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, oats, and whole grains. • Gentle walking or light exercise can reduce constipation and abdominal discomfort. • Track your menstrual cycle regularly, as stress and lifestyle changes can delay periods. ⚠️ Seek urgent medical care if you develop severe abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, fainting, or positive pregnancy test with pain, as that requires immediate evaluation. If you want, you can also share how many days your period is delayed and where exactly the pain is located, and I can guide you more precisely. You may also book an online consultation for a detailed evaluation.
