Presuming its parotid gland swelling as mentioned by you, probably viral (mumps), take analgesics like dolo 650 twice to thrice a day, keep yourself well hyderated by sipping water and if you have started with antibiotics finish the course. If it doesn't  get better after 7 days, get yourself examined.

Please respond to following questions: gland swollen same side or both. Which type of neuralgia? I am presuming there is no cavity and wisdom tooth are removed or are normal.
Joint pains typically in neuralgia, but that is not indicated here.
Infection around parotid gland is possible, causes can be viral, bacterial and fungal. Also there can be radiating pain from other region.
Presuming everything is normal and it is indeed a bacterial swelling in parotid, a higher antibiotic for 2-3 weeks minimum is the norm.
Dose start therapy yourself, consult your oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
