Pain in heel
I have terrible pain in both the heels but more in right leg heel. Once I took injection for spur in right leg heel in one point. But now the pain is in both legs heel and the point where I had spur three years back. I wear soft chappals butcant stand for more than one hour in kitchen. As if now I am not in the opinion of taking injection during lockdown and I hv 5 yr old kid at home

Hello dear Need to see x-rays to comment on the heel spur. Plantar fascitis pain usually doesn't occur while working. It is more of an early morning awakening pain where the first few steps are the most difficult and the things ease out later on. That being the case, plantar fascia stretching, silicone heel pads, contrast bath and anti-inflammatories are your tools. However, if the pain is more of what happens with prolonged standing and walking, i am considering an alternate pathology related to your heel pad or your heel tendon. Regards Dr Vipin Gupta

Plantar fasciitis can be very troublesome especially if associated with bone spur formation. Avoid barefoot walking and use silicone insole in your shoes. Use a soft sole slipper as well. Plantar fascia stretching exercises will help. Contrast foot bath will be useful. It is a type of fomentation in which foot is immersed in warm water for 3 min followed by cold water for 1 min. The procedure is repeated 20 times morning and evening. You can take some painkiller on sos basis. Regards, Dr Kritesh Mishra MS Ortho

we have to find the reason for heel pain which is also called planter fascitis. normally their are one the the 5 associated reasons along with spur. we have to identify it and treat 1) long standing activity or overweight 2) diabetics 3) high uric acid 4) hypothyroid 5) low vitamin D 95percent of cases  one of these 5 is the reason and pain doesnt go or reappear if we dont treat it. so treatment goes as 1) identify the reason and treat it 2) wear soft footwear 3) do contrast bath of hot and cold water. 4) medicine can only be taken after phyical consultation with an orthopaedic doctor steroid injection in heel should be the last treatment option amd only for those who dont respond to above treatments
