Pain in biting after RCT
I got my RCT done yesterday and cap is still not pasted...just filling done as of now. It pains when I bite from that tooth. Is it normal ? How long should I not eat from that side. Cap/crown will take 1-2 weeks.

By definition, after root canal treatment is completed there should not be any pain on the particular tooth. The pain could be because of improper treatment or a filling which is protruding out and causing excessive pressure on the tooth which leads to pain. If the pain doesn't subside ,you need to visit the dentist who performed the RCT.

Since you have got a root canal treatment just yesterday, it is normal to feel pain and tenderness with the associated tooth as root canal treatment is a procedure where the tooth is instrumented and cleaned and then filled till the root end and the pain may be because of the same. However, you will notice that the intensity of the pain will gradually reduce. Since the capping will take 1-2 weeks, I would suggest just scale your pain on from 1 to 10 depending on the intensity and compare it on days 3, 6 and 10th day to know if it has improved! In the mean time, your Dentist will do the needful process of preparing the tooth for cap and before the final cementation of cap you will understand if you are pain free or no.
Next Steps
Wait for 3 to 9 days and keep scaling the pain on basis of intensity.
Health Tips
Do not chew very hard food like dry fruits and sticky food for a day or 2 on the tooth of concern.
