Take fibre rich diet. Plenty of water. Syp duphalac 1 tsp at bedtime, will help in soften stools (if constipated) Anobliss ointment can be applied locally to the anal area thrice a day. It will decrease the  pain during stool passage.
Next Steps
please consult a surgeon to check the local anal area for fissure/ piles.
Health Tips
unless you have had low fluid intake/ low fibre diet, during covid I don't think it has anything to do with it.

Hard stools can lead to cracks and fissure in the anal mucosa. Get a laxative and avoid hard stools.
