Sides are left and right, not upper side and lower side. In case of pain in the ribs (read chest) , left and right side are very significant. The moment you mention pain in the ribs (or chest) it becomes a problem for Tele-consultation team to ignore it. So it is for you to decide how bad the pain is and how long it has been there. If it is troubling you, better consult with a General Physician in your area.
